#22 – Billowing

Looking back on it now I think maybe it was a coal-fired power plant. In my head though it was clearly a cloud factory. The smoke went up into the sky and blended right in to the actual clouds. It seemed way more believable than some nonsense about clouds just materializing out of nothingness.

Since they’ve built in the filter system into Weisweiler power plant (near Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, European Union), there is hardly any visible smoke left, but there are still lots of steam coming out of the cooling tower. When the weather is right, it actually looks like a cloud factory with a trail of freshly made clouds on the sky.

Ha! I used to think the same exact thing! I actually have one factories visible from my house. It’s always when it’s about to storm. You have these strangely white clouds amidst all the gray.
