My first plane ride across the USA was amazing and disappointing. It was amazing to see the country from such a new perspective. It was disappointing that I never had any idea where we were. Occasionally the pilot would announce some significant out one of the windows but it rarely looked any different than the previous hour of endless terrain.

I took a couple friends on a flight -I slept as I usually do. When we arrived, they noted they could tell the moment we left Arizona airspace -everything went from brown to green.
Speaking of Arizona, seeing The Grand Canyon from 35,000+ feet is not the most impressive way to view it.
Never had the opportunity to fly, but as a seasoned road traveller, there are places where you know when you cross certain county or state lines. The road conditions suddenly improve.
Yes! What’s worse is when the maps cut out countries and you have no concept how they actually fit together. “What do you mean Alaska is not an island?”
I’d have thought that Mr Hallbeck would have been sad there wasn’t a freaky yeti-gremlin thing out on the wing.
