Hmm… was it at that party last week? No, I only ate pizza there. Maybe when we went to the movies? Yes that’s it! I had popcorn when we went to see the Hobbit! That was… 3 months ago?!

Inorfmation is power and now I’m a !@#$ing dictator.
I’m usually very aware of the popcorn shell, but can’t get it without the assistance of floss. Which I never have on hand. So I pick at it for hours to no avail, then forget about it when there is floss nearby, then remember and resume picking at it when floss is again out of reach. This goes on for weeks.
Long story short, that’s how I lost a tooth.
The last time that happened to me it wound up being a piece of my tooth. Then I got a root canal.
When I had my wisdom teeth out, I went in with a bit of a toothache. Within 10 seconds of them having my mouth open, it was cured! I asked what they did, and they showed me the popcorn shell. I hadn’t had popcorn for about a week prior to that.
