#75 – Swimmers

I’ve never had fish tacos. I had actually never heard of them until a few years ago thanks to the magic of the internet. I don’t remember the context of where I first heard them mentioned but I assumed they were a joke! It took awhile before I realized this was a real thing that people would make on purpose!

Fish tacos are delicious, if you haven’t tried them you should

I always thought they were a joke too, who knows? maybe they are, I’ve certainly never met anyone who’ll admit to eating one.

    1. Come to Texas. They serve those things in *restaurants* down here, and yes, people actually *order* and *eat* them. Un-ironically.

We have a fish taco restaurant here in Virginia. The entire marketing department loves it. It even has it’s own bus stop.

Don’t let those fish tacos “go wild” as leftovers in your fridge or one day they’ll spawn in your leftover bowl of tomato soup! XD

They have been selling them at the Meat Counter during Lent season around here. Not a part of regular restaraunt/supermarket dynamics here though.

Hey Chris, I’ve been wondering–about how long does it take you to do the art on a strip like this one? Not think it up, but to sit there and make the actual picture. Just curious…

    1. Chris says:

Probably 20 minutes for this specific strip.

You are FAST. I have no CG skills. I’ve tried.

I’d like to get one of those aquarium screensavers, populated with the Taco Fish, and the occasional Burrito-cuda.

Oddly enough, I first learned of the existence of fish tacos while reading mountain biking magazines.

I had some recently for the first time at a Bahama Breeze. Not bad, considering I’m type that tends to get a burger just about anywhere.

  9. kingklash says:

Are they corn or flour tortillas?

  10. pbarnrob says:

In SoCal, there are several Baja-oriented places that make them, and you can have either corn or flour (but why would you NOT have corn, the REAL tortilla?) Generally, flaky, absolutely fresh, white fish, lightly breaded and fried, and served with lime. Sometimes as an appetizer for $0.99!
