Chapter: Comic
All my good luck keeps getting wasted on tiny everyday things! There was exactly the right amount of milk left for my bowl of cereal. The hot water ran out as I was bending over to turn the shower off. I stumbled on the sidewalk which caused me to miss stepping in the fresh dog poop.

I don’t know. Are you better off with the little blessings, or wasting all your alloted day’s luck at once on something big, and end up having chills from the shower, causing you to spill your milk, and being so distracted you step in poop, and stumble out into the path of a car?
well, you could always be like this guy… trust me, I think you’re better off with the matching socks.

Am I the only person in the world who safety-pins his socks together when they’re not on my feet?
… that’s god damn genius. i need to buy me some safety pins!
I just maintain a stable of identical socks. Right now, they’re all ankle length white hanes numbers. Somehow, they still end up slightly different over time. I suspect it has to do with manufacturing tolerances.
Some day when I have to wear a suit, I’ll also have a stable of identical dark socks.
I just don’t bother matching my socks, ever. In fact, I prefer them that way. Though my wife, after adopting the same practice, pointed out that it’s now just as much trouble trying to pick two *non*-matching socks out of our collective sock drawer as it would be to pick two matching ones.
But more entertaining! I just fold the tops over of the pairs; I do keep a pair of warm thick green, and another of sturdy red, for port-n-starboard Christmas mismatches.
Chris, I think it just means your washer has been eating something else, and was full. Count your shorts lately?
