At one of my previous day jobs a coworker had his dead cat on his desk. For the longest time I didn’t realize it was real. Then one day I was waiting around for him and sort of absentmindedly picked it up. I never went in his office alone again.

I wonder if plumbers have a lot of stories like doctors. “Yeah, I really have no idea what happened. It was working fine yesterday and then this morning it wouldn’t flush!” 5 minutes later the shower curtain is pulled out of the pipes. “Hey! That’s where those went!”

My wife used to be a volunteer at the children’s section of the zoo. One of her favorite parts was showing kids various animals that they could have as pets. The rats and guinea pigs didn’t have any official names. If the kids asked what their names were the volunteer would just make one up. It was usually something food based like “Oreo” or “Peanut Butter” because in reality they were food for other animals at the zoo.
