There were good things and bad things about the location of my desk at my last office job. One of the bad things was it was near a hallway intersection. People tended to naturally congregate there and have loud conversations that were completely irrelevant to the fonts I was trying to choose. One of the best things was that I was facing the goodie table. Whenever the magic free food fairy dropped off a load of extra cookies left over from an executive meeting I was one of the first to know about them.

I work at a small art gallery, and currently am the only empolyee. I have to have the annoying conversations by myself, and provide my own goodies that I have to race to be the first one there all alone.
…I was expecting a joke about drinking coffee and eating a doughnut at the (exact) same time…
Does anyone else find it a bit odd that they always fuel high level meetings with sugar coated knock-out drops?
