Chapter: Comic
Thinking about it now I wish I would have tried to make that experience a little more extreme. Maybe put the pillow case in the refrigerator or freezer during the day. I guess the truth of it is that’s how I grew up so it didn’t seem weird or unbearable. To this day I’m always the last one to complain about a room being too warm or stuffy.

For some reason the words “Hague Court” are coming to mind. >.>
Congrats on 100 comics! Stay Classy.
Wait, isn’t it like that for everyone? I just thought it was a way of life.
or you could, you know, move to Canada, it’s nice here
I live in Toronto, and unfortunately had to do this too.
I eventually learned to sleep without a pillow in the summer.
How appropriately timed. I woke up a dozen times last night because I’d overheated. It seems we’ve reached the point where I just need to take the comforter off the bed early this year.
But…but…sheets aren’t nearly so effective at keeping monsters out. :/
Just started turning on the AC last week. Of course, around here, it’s the time of year when the weather flip-flops really quick, and I almost had to pile on blankets at night.
In Danang (1970), the trick was to keep a big box fan hanging over the bed, on low. I’d get off phone-patch watch at midnight, have a snack, and turn in. About ten AM, I’d wake with the ti-ti ants nibbling at the salt on my belly. (Unless there was rocket reveille!)
I had a related strategy: I’d keep my head on the bottom half of the pillow and also tuck my forearms under the bottom of the pillow underneath. Flip over the pillow, get fresh cool on both arms and face.
We never need AC here; no night the past two summers has stayed warmer than 55F/13C. We also get less than 90 days between our last and first dips down to freezing over the summer. Love it here. I’d much rather pile a bunch of blankets on than try to stay cool.
I cannot stand heat, I have a super high-powered fan pointed right at my face next to my bed. My room is at least 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. Which is always hilarious because My mom can’t stand being cold, and she won’t go into my room unless I turn the fan off.
