My dog is always excited to dig something up. She doesn’t get to do it much because she hates getting a bath. If only she would be excited to dig into a tub of clean water.

Dogs dream about what they do. For example, our dog is paranoid, always leary of new people, furniture, and wall decorations. To the point that she will mow down anything in her escape path.
So when she dreams, she whimpers and frets, and even shakes or moves her legs like she’s trying to run away. If anyone makes a sudden movement or the cat walks by at just the right time and wakes her up, she vanishes, fleeing the room in a black-and-brown blur.
I had to get my sister’s terrier a large kitty litter pan to put his water in, because he liked to play with his regular water dish, including “digging” the water out. On hot days, he’d sit in it, and just look like he was happy with all creation to have a spot to cool off in.
