Chapter: Comic
I remember my mom getting frustrated that I was losing my mittens somewhere at school. Then she got me a pair that were attached to each other by a string and stayed inside my coat when I took it off. I was amazed at this upgrade and couldn’t believe that they weren’t all made this way.

He’s in a cell next to the…… Cruel Shoes.
Bill Cosby, on one of his comedy albums (vinyl LP, to give you an idea of how old it is), has a bit where he talks about “idiot mittens”, and how you could find a kid with these, pull on one of his mittens, and get him to slap himself in the face with his other hand. I’ve never experience these; my mother bought clips that would attach each mitten to the corresponding cuff of our jackets.
I actually do this for work (outdoor work and occasional requirement for manual dexterity). I got laughed at initially, but they came around after dropping their mitts in water, or oil, or other nasty substance.
I want socks like those mittens.
