#132 – Clean

This is extra bad for me because of my bad eyesight. I take my glasses off in the shower and so if I happen to notice a dark blob on the wall my brain imagines the most horrible bug possible. No wait, that’s just a pattern in the shower curtain. Please just be a pattern in the shower curtain.

My cousin thought he was having a stroke once in the shower. He stepped in, and his vision got all strange and blurry. Took a few seconds of panic before he realized he forgot to take his glasses off, and they had instantly fogged up.

I, too, have bad eyesight, and I also have thick, long, dark, and curly hair that doesn’t like to shed naturally, so when I wash my hair in the shower, I get a lot of hair looped around my fingers, which I roll up and throw in the trash to keep from clogging the shower drain. Sometimes I miss, and without my glasses, I can mistake the little balls of rolled up hair for various nasties.

Because that spider has eight eyes to ogle you with, not just two.

Meanwhile, I check carefully for spiders and shoo them out of the tub (putting them outside doesn’t seem to work; they’re back in about a day).

I need to post this in my bathroom.

Once time, glasses-less, I saw what looked like a weird bubble on the shower floor. I bent down for a look, wound up face-to-centipede and nearly killed myself trying to get away from it.

You could always become a bubble boy, Chris.

I can totally relate to that! After taking off my glasses and mistaking many small clumps of hair in the shower for bugs and giving up… I happened to miss an actual spider…
