#399 – Packed

One of my most terrifying nightmares involves walking through an underground tunnel. It starts to slope down and twist like a spiral staircase but it’s just a wet slippery stone ramp. No stairs. It gradually gets narrower and narrower and steeper and steeper until I fall and get stuck. My head is jammed sideways. Caught between two black cold stone walls. I can’t move. Everything is dark. I can only take shallow breaths as the walls push back on my chest. I’m cold. Maybe I should just sleep.

But you were so close to the exit! I’ll leave a Dig-Dug drill behind next time I’m there.

Tip #1 Push your hand against a wall and force it within, bam, you’re in lucid dream and can do what ever you will.

Tip #2 Turn back at the beginning of the dream and go out.

Tip #3 Say to yourself “I’m not having this crap again” and force yourself awake or wait in the corridor long enough for the dream to change.

Tip #4 There’s no tip #4. Sorry. Well.. okay, bad dreams stem from problems you might have, stress and other stuff you don’t feel ok with. If you find them and try to find a way to tell yourself they’re not really issues, it might put your mind at ease. I’ve been doing that and I rarely see nightmares anymore. Had even a period of multiple years without any.

    Sweet dreams!

      Alternate ending:

Tip #1 Push your hand against a wall and force it within, bam, you’re in lucid dream and can do what ever you will.

Tip #2 Wake up from the dream like every other time you attempted to lucid dream and start afresh with a new dream.

      1. Rez says:

Yeah, either that or the dream tries to convince you to lose your concentration and fall asleep again. Just keep your calm and you can last slightly longer in the dreams.

I’ve had a couple of those nightmares recently … though the last one wasn’t a tunnel but a waterpipe which is even worse …
