My friends and I used to untie our shoes and kick them off on purpose. See who could shoot them the farthest. It was not always appreciated on a crowded playground.

The dilemma here is deciding whether to apologize for the first shoe, or take the challenge and see if you can hit the same target twice.

Apologize. A still target is less interesting.
In my elementary days, I knew a kid who would do that, and aim at any kid who jumped off the swings. He was really good at mid-air intercepts.
