#61 – Corded

I think my ear holes are progressively getting droopier because of this. I have a MacBook with the cool magnetic power cord attachment. I really wish Apple would make a headphone jack that worked the same way. One of these days I’ll turn in the right direction to pull the whole laptop onto the floor.

Also, I added a “buy print” button below the comic! Pick one out to attach to a vertical surface of your choice!

Or if pixel based images are more your speed head on over to the donation page and get some wallpaper images in return! Thanks!

I’ve done that with a lot of headphones.
I had a headphone extension kit that gave me an additional 7 feet. Another set of headphones has a 10 foot cord. The usual ones have a 5 foot cord. In most cases, you can still pull shit off while forgetting you have them on.

However, I do have a set of wireless headphones. They’re missing the headphones part, but easily replaceable. The range for them is 150 feet and I can move around freely without tripping over wires, except the ones from the receiver box.

I occasionally do this, but not as often as most. I have to buy slightly more expensive earbuds, or plain regular headphones, because my right ear has a slight convex portion where it would normally be concave. Regular ‘buds can’t set right on that side, so when I buy new ones, I have to buy the ones that fit inside the canal, or occasionally there are unusual ones with unique shapes that fit pretty good, somehow. It is getting harder to find good, inexpensive Walkman-type headphones, though. Either cheap dollar-store ones that have that weak point at the jack that breaks and only one side keeps working, or something some Pop Star has their names on, so I have to pay big bucks for that on a set that I could have been happy to pay half that.

this site has headphones that connect by magnets the intent is to stack to have multiple people listening but it works to keep them from dragging the device with them. skunkjuiceearbuds (dot) com

Once I knocked over the thingie that has all the stuff the computer needs to run because of this. lucky me it happened a day before christmas and I got a new computer for christmas, thank you so much parents. And you too serendipity, without you I would have needed to move that bulky thing when it was completely fine and broken because of the shoddy worksmanship that went into it.

I became an electrical engineer just because of this reason. I gave up and found it’s easier to fix stuff than to remember not to break them in the first place.

sometimes i wonder if that’s the headphones’ attempt at keeping you from leaving the computer.

I actually broke my laptop’s headphone jack this way. Twice. The first time it just couldn’t put out stereo properly, but then I did it again… It has to be in just the right position to give any output at all.

I do this almost every day. One day I’m going to bring my laptop down to the kitchen with me.
