I wonder if many years in the future people will use “lol speak” to refer to our current time the way we have the “groovy” 60′s Or the “far out” 70′s. Maybe it will be a trend that will last for decades? People will forever be making their pets be horrible speakers of their native language.
I really thought that by now everyone would have an entire blank wall dedicated to being a TV screen by now. That’s what all the 1980′s Sci-Fi movies taught me. I had no idea that what would really happen is we would all get individual tiny screens to look at. I guess the Nintendo Game Boy was the real future predictor we should have seen coming.
Generally the IT crew would schedule updates to happen overnight or on weekends. Occasionally though something would go wrong and an absolutely critical patch needs to be installed right now before you do anything else! Of course my machine was always at least 5 years old so trivial updates would take an hour or two. Time for doodles and comic writing!
It can be so exciting when you start a new job.

“Yes, but you always leave at 5 o’clock. Kevin stays longer than I do!”
I think my ear holes are progressively getting droopier because of this. I have a MacBook with the cool magnetic power cord attachment. I really wish Apple would make a headphone jack that worked the same way. One of these days I’ll turn in the right direction to pull the whole laptop onto the floor.

I never realize I have this problem until I open that final tab that squishes them all one final time where I loose the icons. Then I start clicking through them. “Nope, need that one… need it, need that, ooh! (watches cat video) keep that one…” An hour later I finally find a tab I can close. 5 minutes after that I open a new tab and start all over.
My mom used to tell me to sit back from the TV or I will ruin my eyes. Now I’m constantly putting screens inches away from my face. My eyesight is horrible though. No argument there.
