#68 – Sabotage

Really my main weapon for not eating junk is just never having it in the house. If I go to the grocery store and fill up a cart with lots of food it’s pretty easy to resist. I can look down and see lots of things that I’m looking forward to eating in the future. When I have to make a quick stop to just get paper towels and mayonnaise is when it’s a problem.

“Hmm… what am I going to use to keep me company when I’m sad and lonely at 3AM? Certainly this 12-pack of Reese’s peanut butter cups will be more than adequate.”

For these reasons I don’t keep table salt, sugar (I do have some substitute) OR chocolate in my house. In the years since I grew up and out on my own my palate has expanded considerably. I only indulge in chocolate mostly around certain holidays that justify it.

Yeah, a carton of ice cream will be your friend in the wee hours of the morning.

Really? Maybe I’m just one of those weird people who finds fruits to be sweeter than candy.
