I’ve seen a few cars like this and they are amazing. Just a small human sized opening amongst the trash. Must get really crappy gas mileage. It must be really confusing when a car like that gets in a really bad accident. “So this was a hit and run by a dumpster?”
My son gets lots of books from the library and likes to pick some out for me to read to him at bedtime. He can’t read much by himself so I still have the luxury of editing the story on the fly. He loves new words and sometimes I just dont want to deal with him calling everyone a “Scum ball” for the next week.
Plus, this week is Biff’s 7th birthday! To celebrate, all Biff books are crazy on sale for only 7 bucks each! Go check them out in the store!
Our dog knows the sound of the airconditioner in our car. She will be curled up on the couch sleeping for an hour and when my wife gets to about three houses away the dog will jump up and excitedly run over to the door. She can hear the car in the cold months as well but only from around when it hits the end of the driveway.
Back in Boston I worked in the same building that I lived in. I thought I would never top that. Now I work from home and when I occasionally leave the house in a car I think “Wow look at all these cars! They are going so fast! What is the hurry! Slow down people!”
This happens to me a few times a year and always freaks me out. The siren sneaks up on my and my brain thinks that I’m about to be hit by the police car that is speeding up behind me… no wait nothing is there it must be right next to me! Nothing! It’s on the other side! Aaaaaaa… oh it’s this song! I now hate this band! Who made this song?!
My first car was 11 years old when I bought it. But it still had a few years left of cup holding. Then one day I got lunch at McDonalds and the cup no longer fit. It was a relief when I got a newer car and I once again had somewhere to put my enormo-drink. Then on a trip to Taco Bell it happened again! My car had no built in device to hold such a thing. I had to resort to holding the drinks in between my legs. Warming up the drink and cooling down my… legs.
The actual driving part wasn’t so bad. It was things like parking or changing lanes or navigating through a crowd of children that drove me nuts. I knew this would be a piece of cake if I had a top down view. It would be so much easier to avoid obstacles and lawsuits.
That car out front is someone checking out the layout of my yard so they know where all the bushes are when they come to break in after I fall asleep. That dude sitting across from me on the subway is waiting for me to look away so he can steal my backpack. That crow is sitting on the same branch everyday and its head follows me as I walk by.
I always get a kick out of seeing a standard sedan type car that has no modifications visible to it whatsoever apart from a giant ridiculous spoiler. Maybe the owner worked at an auto mod store and got a sweet deal on it? Maybe it’s all that was left from the previous car after a racing accident. It’s a reminder of a previous life.
